Development Reverse side of Digipak

Having developed ideas on the primary side of the digipak (as it corresponds almost exactally to that of the magazine advert that we have fundamentally been looking at. We decided for the reverse side that we wanted to include a smaller image of Jodie, maybe with slightly more quirkiness than the front side that we wanted to remain quite fierce.

We therefore decided upon this image. We felt that it was extremely different to the portrait of the first. Meanwhile the idea that the same dress is being worn in both gives levels of continuity. The facial expression remains "fierce" meanwhile which juxtaposes with the composisition of the image to give a striking rop-pop formation.

We finally ended up with this. I was really pleased with the way that this side turned out, my team mates agreed with me. Using the same warming effect that we used on another attempt at the magazine adverts image, we got this brilliant juxtaposing image: fierceness with the expression, quirkiness with the colours and composition.

We chose the pinkish colour for this side to give more of a pop feel, with the edgy lettering used to give the rock part of the genre. We will then use a darker purple as part of the front face of the digipak.

We especially love the way that Jodie's legs come off of the page.

The composition was very important for this section also. We made sure to fit in with the conventions that:

a) We put the barcode on the bottom right hand corner.
b) We put the copyright info in the bottom left hand corner
c) The order of size of text goes:
      - Song Titles
      - Info on bonus material (made different sizes to give a stylised quirkiness)
      - Manger info
      - Copyright info
