For this project we used the "Final Cut" programme to edit our work. We hadn't used the programme before as last year we used a much simpler editing software called "imovies". This meant that editing took us longer because it was a trial and error process as we learned how to use this programme. Like photoshop the programme has hundreds of options and we had to look through them to see what you can use.
We were very impressed once we got going at how much more professional "Final Cut" is compared to "imovie". Some key improvements included the ready made affects which included "bad TV" and other strange and wonderful effects that could be added. Other pieces of the programme that we found really useful was the fact that you could easily slow down and speed up pieces of video, which we used in several scenes.
We decided to edit everything together before we went onto actually test out all the different colours. This proved effective in the sense that we could make the colour changes and effects uniform and flowing throughout the whole piece.
One of the effects that we felt were most effective was the black and white tool. This meant we didn't have to change every single clip individually we could get the same level of black and white for each section.
We do wish we had left more time to sort out some of the colours involved.
We also wish we could have sorted out the problem of converting the video from "Final Cut" to "Quicktime" because we had an issue with it and it led to our video being slightly out of sync with the music which is very annoying to say the least.
