Final Developement of the Ancillary Task
We have finally decided on using this image that we used before (when it went orange). We like Jodie's "fierce" expression and the way that she is not scary because she is looking away from the direct field of vision.
We decided that because of the problems of cutting into Jodie's eye with the magnetic lasso that we would start the process again and cut around the image more carefully.
Before we started cutting the image again we decided to play around with the sharpness of the image. We therefore got rid of some of the pixalation that we had with the image before.
We then started using the magic wand and magnetic lasso to cut around Jodie. We also cropped the image so that we only got her shoulders and head in (this fitted with the conventions).
We then added a dark purple background. We used the blur tool to smooth the face slightly, and to blur the edges of Jodie's face where we cut with the magic lasso. This is therefore the final image that we are very happy with.
